About

After receiving a degree in graphic design and in animation, Michael started his career in 3d modeling and
animation at Orbital Technologies. He worked there for about five years working on online training simulations.
After the first year he was able to further develop his skills by doing concept art as well as the 3d modeling on
simulations and architectural walkthroughs When he became lead graphic designer he worked on web interfaces
and designs for the trainers and other simulations. At Orbital Technologies he helped create web based trainers
for some divisions of NASA and the military. These trainers were usually hardware based learning simulations where
a person could get familiar with a piece of hardware before using it or as a refresher. The simulations would either
be procedural, a step by step trainer, or event based, where based on what the user picked events would change.
Through these projects he enhanced his skill set in creating interactive simulations content and storyboards, creating
user interfaces and web sites, learning new software to create elements in the projects to meet and exceed the
client's needs, learning new scripting languages, and creatively working out problems.

After Orbitec he taught full time in the Animation Program at Madison Area Technical College. There he was teaching
others how to build models using 3ds Max, Photoshop, and some After Effects. Through his teaching he was able to
build up his skill sets on the subject matter he was teaching the students. He was in charge of teaching 4 classes
a semester and helped to create the training material, examples, and work close with the students when problems
that occurred. He is now currently teaching part time at Madison Area College in the ACE program. There he is
teaching Stop Motion Animation and two Adobe Flash courses.

Seeing a need for web designers, he also decided to start doing freelance work as Screaming Paints. As Screaming
Paints he has been working part time and full time, depending on the project as a web and
graphic designer, animator, as well as a 3d modeler. Doing freelance has given him a chance to work closely with
people and helping create their visions to reality. In the last two years he has taken on more full time projects
with various companies as well as trying to seek full time employment.
